ABOUT
Born in Barcelona in 1996, he began his musical studies at the age of 5, studying piano. In 2005, he joined the Escolania de Montserrat, where he studied organ in addition to his studies in choral singing and violin. During his time at the Escolania, he accompanied the renowned boys choir as organist in concerts and services throughout Montserrat and Europe.
He continued his studies of piano and organ at the Conservatori del Liceu. He has participated in master classes in organ, basso continuo, and improvisation given by Montserrat Torrent, Ludger Lohman, Jurgen Essl, Jürgen Kursawa, Naji Hakim, Bernhard Leonardy, Monica Melcova, Roberto Fresco, Michel Bouvard, and Luca Scandali, Daniel Roth, amongst others.
He graduated with distinction in 2018 from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, where he studied with maestros Óscar Candendo and Juan de la Rubia. In 2017 he was awarded the ERASMUS exchange grant to supplement his studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin, where he was a pupil of Paolo Crivellaro. Other studies included basso continuo with professors Luca Guglielmi, Mara Galassi, and Arno Schneider. He finished with best marks the Master's Degree in Organ at the Hochschule für Musik und Dartellende Kunst Stuttgart in the studio of Prof. Dr. Ludger Lohmann.
Since November 2022 he is the titular organist of the catalan historical organ at Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar in Barcelona. He combines this job with the functions of assistant organist at Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia.
His multi-faceted performance career has included solo engagements in Spain, Sweden, Portugal and Germany, as well as numerous ensemble performances (Barcelona Symphony Orchestra/National Orchestra of Catalonia, Chamber Choir of the Palau de la Música, Orfeó Català, Gran Teatre del Liceu). He has recorded for Catalunya Música, the European Union of Broadcasting, and record label Ficta.
In October 2018 he was awarded 1st Prize at the contest "El Primer Palau" as well as the Catalunya Música Prize for his performance of Fantasie und Fuge über den Choral "Ad nos, ad Salutarem undam" by Franz Liszt at Palau de la Música Catalana. He was also awarded with the First Prize at the "Concurso Nacional de Órgano" (2020) in Burgos.
Other honors have included the 2016 1st Prize of the III National Contest of Young Organists "Ioannes Baptista Cabanilles", the 2017 2nd Prize at the "Joseph Gabler Wettweberb" of the International Summer Academy of Music ( Ochsenhausen, Germany), the "Andrés Segovia - José Miguel Ruiz Morales" Prize (2016), and a "Young Talent" scholarship granted by the Music Foundation Ferrer-Salat (2013).
Recently he published his first solo CD recording "BachGround", with the support of Palau de la Música and Catalunya Música, recorded at the great Metzler organ in Poblet's Monastery (Tarragona, SP).
